I have to recommend this company to any woman with large feet. They custom make shoes for a very good price. They'll even do different sizes for left and right foot for no extra charge, which is exactly what I needed. Turns out part of the reason I've always had trouble finding shoes that fit is I have one foot a full size smaller than the other. Awesome customer service, they walked me through how to measure my feet myself. I never imagined I'd be able to find a pair of high heeled lace up boots that actually fit, but they made it happen.

Where to get pikes/winklepickers that isn’t gothic shoe co or goth pikes?

Hey so like a lot of other people I ordered boots from Gothic Shoe Co and never got anything. I’m in the process of getting my money back but I still want a pair of winklepickers!! I know Goth Pikes exists but I’ve read some iffy reviews and after this GSC debacle I’m super wary. Suggestions? Preferably in the US. Thanks!

Background
Back in January, Adelante reached out to me via reddit asking if they could send me 2 boots for review. They mailed over 2 Havanas, 1 in Desert for a friend just getting into GYW and 1 in Caramel for myself. In addition to writing up a detailed feedback, I also wanted to do a reddit review and introduce Adelante Shoe Co.
Overall, I'm digging the boots, they're surprisingly comfortable and are made with good attention to detail. Plus, they're offering some leathers that I have not seen before. Adelante is still making some adjustments to the sole and the last the boots are built on, but I am looking forward to seeing what they produce this year.
About the Company
Adelante is a newer start up growing out of Boston focusing on improving Latin American economies by guaranteeing their workers a “living wage”. The major philosophy of the company is producing men’s and women’s boots and shoes while ensuring that the local workers receive a good salary. You can read more about the "living well line" here if you are so inclined.
Progressing into 2018, Adelante is looking into possible new lasts, different sole options, and a fully customizable made to order program (everything from stitch color to leather) in 2018.
Sizing
The Havana runs small, really small. As you can see, the 8EE width is smaller than a Wolverine 8D width. My friend wears an 11 in most running shoes and opted for a 10.5E in the Havana,
I am an,
8D in Wolverine/ Red Wing
8 in Viberg 2030,
8EE in Adelante.
It makes for a snug fit. I expressed my concerns about sizing to Michael over at Adelante, he said that they had gone with a smaller last to accommodate more foot types (they have up to EEE) as they do a lot of custom sizing. Regardless, he said that they would be looking into other lasts.
Leather
Some up close shots. The "Desert" is called "Alamo" and from Le Farc Tannery in Mexico, the "Caramel" is called "Crazy Xela" from San Miguel Tannery. So far, I would compare the leathers to a softer chromexcel with less pull up. The have more of a soft matte finish but no excessive creasing or loose grain. Looking closely, there is a lot of natural variation in the leather, I'm interested to see how they'll age. Adelante is planning to introduce a couple new leathers this year and switch to completely veg-tanned offerings.
Pricing
At $235, these fall into tier 1 of the BBBG.
Construction
Goodyear welt construction, 360 degree welt. They did a really nice job finishing the edges and the welt joint is practically invisible. Deets.
Inners
The boot has a leather toe box, lined with calfskin, and uses a memory foam insole, no cork at this time, under the insole is leather. Break in lasted about an hour, the footbed will not mold as much as a Redwing but it is comfortable right out of the box. Each boot is personally signed by its maker.
Sole
Top sole + heel pad and here for the Desert. Currently I am concerned that the heel is far too thin for a boot but Adelante is currently experimenting with newer and thicker options. So far it hasn't worn down as much as I expected it to from walking on pavement.
Overall
I think they're solid boots. I'm happy with them and looking forward to making them a permanent part of my rotation- they're the lightest colored boots I have and fill a gap. Thanks for reading.

Glock performance trigger kit w/ Standard Co. trigger shoe swap

Pictures I have of the standard company shoe working nicely on the Glock performance trigger kit. What’s most important to me is that the safety tab engages the frame and has enough clearance to prevent hiccups. So far after 200 rounds no malfunctions.
I have tried a couple others, and they work great too. Will be trying the Tyrant ITTS tonight to see how the safety tab engages. Can post updates on that if anyone is interested.
